Digital Climate Alliance Sends Letter to DOE about Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) Implementation

The Digital Climate Alliance transmitted a letter to Department of Energy Secretary Jennifer M. Granholm congratulating the Administration on the enactment of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).

The letter highlights specific IIJA provisions, including the enhanced data collection provision directing the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) to create a dashboard relating to the operation of the bulk power system including hourly operating data, and a system to provide data on the operations of load-serving entities; the provision directing the EIA to establish a system to harmonize data collection efforts with the Environmental Protection Agency and other relevant Federal agencies; and the provision authorizing a “Digital Climate Solutions” report, which will help to catalog the myriad opportunities for digital tools and platforms to be utilized to accelerate decarbonization and promote increased transparency through standardization of voluntary and regulatory climate disclosure protocols.
